Before you open JL59 Lucky Neko, know the one thing that trips most players: the cats. With “lucky neko” searched about 1,600 times a month, it is the most searched game name among the PG pages here, and the tickets are mostly about multipliers that seem to jump. The cause is a single rule, and the fix is knowing where to look. Three tickets first, then the full feature table.
JL59 Lucky Neko: tickets from a six-reel screen
Problem: “My multiplier jumped by 2 for no reason.” Cause: every Cat that lands is worth +2 on the multiplier in PG Soft’s description, so the counter rises two at a time. Fix: read the multiplier display rather than the reels. It is the running total, and it tells you what the next win will be multiplied by.
Problem: “There is a row of symbols above the reels.” Cause: above reels 2 to 5 runs one extra horizontal reel, sitting on a base grid of 6 reels by 5 rows. Fix: treat that top reel as part of the grid. The rules panel shows how its symbols join wins below, which matters with this many positions in play.
Problem: “Wilds appeared in places I did not expect.” Cause: Wilds-on-the-Way is one of the game’s named features, and it is how this title brings Wilds onto the grid. Fix: open the rules panel’s Wild section once before playing; knowing how the feature places them keeps the busier screen readable.
Problem: “Three Scatters landed and nothing happened.” Cause: Lucky Neko needs four Scatters to start its free spins, one more than Mahjong Ways asks for. Fix: check the Scatter count on the rules panel before playing. Three is a near miss here, not a trigger, and it is easy to misread if you came from a mahjong title. The extra Scatter is part of why the free round arrives less often than the busy screen suggests.
The Lucky Neko spec sheet, from PG Soft’s page
| Item | Figure | What changes for you |
|---|---|---|
| Grid | Six by five, with a horizontal reel spanning reels 2-5 | The largest PG grid among this hub’s game pages |
| Wilds | Wilds-on-the-Way | Read its rule once on the rules panel |
| Cat symbol | Adds 2 to the multiplier | The source of most large results |
| Free spins | At least 10, from 4 Scatters | Four Scatters, not three, start the round |
| Volatility | Medium | PG Soft’s own label |
| RTP | 96.73% | PG Soft’s long-run figure |
| Maximum win | x100000 | Shared with Mahjong Ways 2; a rare ceiling |
Because the grid is so large, Lucky Neko sits fifth of six in the first-session ranking of PG Soft slots. Players who find it busy often move to JL59 Wild Bandito, which shares the 96.73% RTP and the Medium label on a smaller 5x4 board.
The word “free” appears twice around this game: once for the in-game round started by Scatters, once in outside offers. The PG Soft free games breakdown explains why only the first is part of the game.
Playing on a phone? The lobby was built as one narrow column for mobile browsers, and the JL59 app notes cover spotting a cloned install before it reaches your phone. Other studio titles are on the PG Soft page index.
How to Get Started
-
Search Lucky Neko in the PG tab
Hot listed only three PG games and this was not one, so go to the PG tab, use the search box in the top-right corner and enter the name.
-
Locate the top reel on the paytable
On the rules panel, find the horizontal reel that sits above reels 2 to 5 and read how its symbols join wins on the main grid below.
-
Track the multiplier, not the cats
Watch the multiplier figure on screen during a round; it is the running total of what the Cats have added, and it shows what the next win is worth.
